Europa...PFFFT!

Well that was the season, a 6th place finish and no European football. Still better than Rafa's last season where we finished 7th and morale was at an all time low.
Somehow, there is a general believe that not qualifying for Europa could be what we actually needed. I mean playing all those qualifying games earlier while enduring those midweek games and Sunday games did not do any favors for us.

I say to hell with Europa and lets focus on winning the long awaited PL while making the Champions League. The FA too will be a blessing. Stevie G and Martin Kelly will be back and Carroll's omission from the U21 team is most welcomed where the tall striker could use the time to rest and recover.
Of couse there will be an exodus of players out of Anfield and also some exciting additions rumored to be making their way to Anfield like N'Zogbia, Gervinho , Friedel and Ella while Ashley Young is almost certain to join Manchester. Aquilani;s retuen could be considered a new signing and one could never tell as the King as the magical touch to turn these players around.
I would get rid of Cole, Poulsen and Ngog while I have always believed that Milan was never really given a chance to shine.
The players that have blossomed are Flanno, Robinson and also Maxi Rodriques while Kuyt has had a revival under Dalglish!
All hail he King!

We need to mount a major challenge on the league and Man U and retain our legacy. YNWA

TO EUROPA OR NOT

Its the last game of the season and we COULD make it for the Europa league.
Big Deal. In my opinion, the competition is really devalued. I mean look at the past finalists...
I do not mean any disrespect to Porto or Braga but really what's the benefit?
I would rather keep our sights on the league and a Champion's League spot!
Those mid week games are terrible and if you are in Asia, you have to wake up at a bewitching hour and watch a game. With this arrangement, we play our league games on Sunday! That's another bummer too!

I say, go win aganist Villa and let Spurs beat Birmingham to qualify. Yay Spurs! Jon Fulham ( who qualify on a fairplay ticket) and Stoke( FA runnersup). No disrespect but if you wanna get back to where we belong, keep your focus in the prize and trust me, we do not need a Europa Cup!
I read somewhere that former Liverpool star Hamman shared the same opinion. I mean, I am already enraged with the whole 'knock Liverpool off their perch" Manc Rants, I really need to feel we are all going out to NOT SALVAGE SOME PRIDE but rather OWN IT!

I am just glad that Kenny will have more involvement with transfers ad the rampant rumors are already raging!
There has been talk about James McCarthy, Charlie Adams, Diego, Hazard, Matiudi, Young, Downing, N'Zogbia and would you believe even Van De Vart!
I would not even Aaron Lennon and the prospect of bringing Aquilani back could be mouth watering!
This could potentially see the end of Ngog, Jovanovic. Poulsen. Cole and also Koncheskey ( That Clears of The Hodgson  Houlers)
And if we get Gerard and Kelly back...wow!

All in all, we still will finish better than last season and the spirits of the fans and players have been lifted!

I mean when you see the Doggfather ( Snoop Dogg) and Lebron James donning our colors. REPRESENT! The time is now....YNWA

Liverpool 4-0 against Villa( why the hell not?

yah yah..we know.. we know

Watching Blackburn play the Mancs was like watching paint dry! Although Rovers were up by a goal, you absolutely knew that some call for the Devils was just peeking around the corner and true enough, Chica was 'brought down' in rather suspicious fashion in the box. And as tradition would have it, the ref succumbed to the crazy pressure of the screaming Devils!

After that, the match was made into the longest passing practice for United!
All said and done, one thing that they did was to win consistently although the beautiful game was nowhere in sight!
In the end, the ball behind the net is all that matters!
So, congratulations Man U and in spectacular fashion and irony as it was Dalglish who said" Come back when you win 19" is back as full time manager in the club! I think the curse has been broken! I sense a changing time for Anfield and Liverpool and as I write this awaiting the game against Spurs, I thank God that we dumped Hodgson in time.

2 more games to go and Europa beckons while everyone is already talking about Liverpool leading the charge next year! I sense Jovanovic, Cole, Poulsen, Carragher and Konchesky will be offloaded to bring in new exciting players. Lots of speculations about Ashley, Scott Parker, Stewart Downing and so many other players. There also rumors surrounding Sergio Aguero could  be  a Red next year and apparently he is a guest today at Anfield for the Spurs game. He and Maxi are best of mates so fingers crossed!
Its a funny game but Dalglish has already proven that his worth with the upheaval and also the purchase of Suarez and Carroll while also reviving the likes of Maxi,Kuyt,Spearing and also giving the kids like Flanno and Spearing their shot!

I rub my hands in anticipation for the new season and also the chance of catching my beloved team in Kuala Lumpur on the 16th of July!

MATCH REPORT - LIVERPOOL VS FULHAM

What hernandez can do, maxi can do to..first goal in under 1 minue and what the hell has happened to Maxi! He cannot stop scoring! And on the 6th minute Maxi scores again! What the hell!

Felt like Dejavu in 5 mintes! Just proves my point about what good management does! Kenny has brought great things to this legendary club but the most apparent thing is inspiration! I mean look at Spearing, Lucas, Maxi, Kuyt!
One would just have to wonder what would have happened to Babel if he played for Dalglish!
Anyway Maxi was denied a penalty at the 14th minute mark but with the momentum they were on, this possessed Red Men were unstoppable as Kuyt knocked his 5th in 5 games and Liverpool were three nil up!

The irony of it all is we were killing Uncle Roy's former team and that smirk on Mark Hughes took my pain of a waking up at 2.45 a.m to watch the game so much easier.

Suarez was running rings around Hanggeland and boy was I glad Hodgson didn't buy him!
Maxi almost got his hattrick on the 24th minute as the reds kept on the pressure!
At this point you had to wonder if Liverpool were playing with 13men!

Clint Dempsey had a decent chance in the 33rd minute and Glen Johnson mad a save in the 33rd Minute
.
Fulham mounted some unusual pressure but this was soaked up by the defence and we went to the half three up with a possibility of a second Maxi hattrick this season!

Bobby Zamora came in place for Davies  in the second half to add firepower for the Fulham attack and in the 47th minute Meireless was replaced by Jonjo Shelvey for a possible hamstring injury - Oh dear!

Fulham attacked relentlessly with Gudjohnson and Zamora but our defense stood strong! Kuyt was moving gingerly and he looked like he had a problem. Dembele pulled one back for Fulham in the 5gth minute and Fulham looked like they could try to emulate the Mighty Istanbul reds!

It was one way traffic at this point with Fulham finding a second wind! A possible Carroll replacement?
Skrtel picked up a yellow card for holding back Zamora i the 65th minute outside the box which gave Fulahm a possibility of converting but some good defending prevented a second goal. Andrew Johnson came on for Gudjohnson and looked like Hughes was giving it all he could to try salvage a draw!
And you knew it was coming !!!! 69th minute MAXI SCORES HIS SECOND HATTRICK IN 3 GAMES! 4-1!
AND TWITTER WAS FLOODED WITH MAXI HATTRICK UPDATES!

  • Gareth_is‎ Maxi Rodriguez hat-trick! That couldn't have been any more of a belter if the ball was made out of belts! #terriblechoiceofwords
    Twitter - 1 minute ago

  • paul_tomkins‎ Maxi hat-trick again. Scorcher.
    Twitter - 2 minutes ago

  • and what turned out to be a route became a router! Suarez gets a much deserved goal in the 75th minute !
    5-1!

Maxi was replaced to a standing ovation by Joe Cole in the 81st minute. Steve Sidwell knocked a humdinger in the 85th minute to salvage some consolation! It was a stunner but one would think that this was too little too late! Shelvey almost knocked in his first Liverpool Goal in the 87th minute only to be denied by the Australian keeper. Dammit half a dozen sounds really good!
4 minutes extra time( without a sight of Carroll) and all in all, we have had a great game with the prospect of Europa. Actually this win takes us to 5th ahead of Spurs. We were denied a 6th when a penalty was denied by the ref when Baird stopped a Kuyt shot with his arms but what the hell! Final whistle : Liverpool 5 - Fulham 2

    EUROPA BECKONS!

MAXI RODRIQUEZ IS ON A ROLL!

4 goals in 2 games and a 10th minute strike put Liverpool ahead in the first half.
Yes Newcastle got ahead on possession with Jonas giving Flanno a headache with his runs and a bombardment of corner kicks and a couple of free kicks.

One would think that that was part of the plan, to get Flanno red carded! He was given a yellow and he needs to tread cautiously in the 2nd half! ( hey doesn't GUTTIEREZ look like Krygiakos?)

NOW THE 2ND HALF WAS PURE MAGIC!

In the 48th minute Pepe makes a good pass to Suarez who does what he does well with some magic and is fouled by Williamson and the ref points to the spot. Kuyt scores! Amazing amazing amazing!
64th minute we see some great team work and the little Uruguyan Suarez gets the goal he deserves! Awesome game!

Maxi was replaced by Carroll with 20 minutes to go and he was given a very rough time by his ex teammates! Oh Well!

Suarez was replaced by Cole in the 87th minute and the 4 minutes extra time passed swiftly seeing us in a potential Europa spot YNWA

    confirmed team lineup!

Its 45 minutes before he game and only one change from the team that routed Birminghma 5-0.
Robinson is on the bench while Johnson is back

Confirmed: Reina, Johnson, Flanagan, Carragher, Skrtel, Lucas, Spearing, Maxi, Meireles, Kuyt, Suarez.

Subs: Gulacsi, Kyrgiakos, Robinson, Shelvey, Cole, Ngog, Carroll.

Although Caroll is on the bench, I am sure he will get his chance to get some hate back into his ex - team especially when Alan Pardew declared it  was 'good riddance' when Carroll left!

I am going for a 3-1 score with Kuyt, Suarez and Carroll to score!

If we win, we move to fifth (although) spurs have a game in hand but we will cross That bridge when we get to it!
